We had a total of 10 people show up on Sunday November 20th despite the nasty weather, and we got two huge yards done in the 2 hours before mass, filling at least 20 bags. This was only the beginning! We would like to get some people together after Thanksgiving to finish the other 8 houses we have on our list. If you need community service hours please contact Lorena. We will be raking leaves the weekend of December 3rd and 4th. More details will be posted soon!
Hope you can help! It’s an amazing way to serve!
Our Lady of the Snows Youth are flocking friends around town to raise money to go to camp! “What is flocking?” you might ask. Well we’ve been putting a “flock” or group of lawn flamingos in people’s front yards with a note telling them about our fundraiser. The next day we pick up the flamingo and the envelope and take the flamingos to the next house. The people who have been flocked usually make a donation and give us an address to send the next flock to! It’s great fun, and we appreciate all those who have contributed to the funds and fun!!!! Because of people’s generosity and sense of humor kids are able to experience one of the best weeks of their lives!!!! Thank you!!!!
Last week Snows took 10 people to Oakbridge camp, and it was a blast!!! The week was filled with so much fun, memories, and laughter!!! We hope that those who went were able to experience God in a new way, and that they may continue to grow in their relationship with God!
Congrats to all those who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on May 13, 2011 at Our Lady of the Snows!!!! All of us in Youth Ministry are proud of you! Keep going strong, and remember this is not the end, but rather the beginning of a new chapter in your faith journey!

Easter is a day in which we celebrate new life! May we remember the miracle of Jesus’s resurrection as we search for eggs, eat wonderful family meals, and spend some quality time with our families and friends! As for those who may have to work, or are separated from their families this Easter, may they find hope and joy in the Resurrection, and may they be Christ’s light and love to others and may they see Christ’s light and love in others!
The end of Lent is near, and Holy Week officially started last Sunday. This week is a powerful week for Catholics, and is filled with lots of opportunities to reflect on Jesus’s Life, Death, and Resurrection. Tomorrow is Holy Thursday and churches all over the world will be celebrating mass. The focus of this mass is the Last Supper, in which Jesus broke bread with His disciples for the last time before He was arrested and crucified. At this supper, Jesus also washes the feet of His disciples, showing us that He came to serve. He tells us to serve others like He has served us. It’s a beautiful and humbling experience to wash the feet of others, but even more so to have your feet washed. If you can make it to a mass tomorrow I highly recommend it. Our Lady of the Snows will hold their mass at 7pm at the church. Good Friday is the day we reflect on the Passion of Jesus. The passion is the story of Jesus’ death. We do not celebrate mass on this day, but many churches will hold a communion service. Snows will have one at 12:10. Later that night there will be a performance by the Newman Center (the Catholic Community from the University), known as the Station of the Cross at 7pm at Our Lady of the Snows. They have always done an amazing job, and it’s a great way to reflect on the suffering Jesus shares with us! There will be no masses celebrated until Saturday night when we all come together to celebrate the Easter Vigil; in which we welcome new comers to our church! It’s a beautiful and symbolic mass! Join Snows in welcoming new members on Saturday the 23rd at 7pm! Sunday of course is the day in which we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus!
